HELIX ASPERSA (2022)
HELIX ASPERSA is a fiction short film written and directed by María Lorente Becerra. Winner of the pitching in the film directing Master's Degree at the Bande À Part school, it was produced by the Catalan production company El Dedo en el Ojo. The film is currently in distribution status.
SYNOPSIS
HELIX ASPERSA tells the story of Maria, a 22-year-old girl who lives under the oppression and lack of communication of her mother and the world that sorrounds her.
Suddenly and unexpectedly, and as the only way to escape from her condition, the main character will undergo a deep metamorphosis, where dreams and reality will intermingle until she is completely stripped of her humanity, to find freedom beyond everything that’s rational.
SEA LA LUZ (2022)
SEA LA LUZ is a fiction short film directed, written and produced by María Lorente Becerra with her production company Espejo Roto Films. The film is currently in distribution status.
SYNOPSIS
Two young brothers, Daniel and Alex, are at a summer house party organized by their bourgeoisie parents. The protagonists, bored by this social event filled with excessive luxury and by the lack of any adult attention, will seek to entertain themselves with made up games. The last of which will drag them to the darkest part of themselves.
CAMERA OBSCURA (2021)
CAMERA OBSCURA is the second short film by María Lorente Becerra, where she tackles memory, oblivion, and death. Produced by Espejo Roto Films, it was her first short film as part of the Escac directing master's degree. The film is currently in post-production.
SYNOPSIS
Alba and David are a young couple who are experiencing the height of their relationship. Despite appearances, death constantly surrounds them. Alba will try to hide what is happening to David. However, David will find out preferring to live in lies in order to stay together.
LAS HERIDAS LILAS (2010)
LAS HERIDAS LILAS is the first professional short film directed, written and produced by María Lorente Becerra. In collaboration with the (now dissolved) production company OVIDEOTV, María carried out her idea with a great technical team and the two celebrated Spanish actors Francesc Garrido and Ariadna Cabrol. The short film premiered at La Filmoteca de Catalunya alongside Vivre sa vie by Jean Luc Godard.
